We know how important an internet connection is to perform any function or to download apps on Roku as well. However, the process of connecting the Roku device would be simple. So, we can try connecting them with any reliable method that works best for us.
Methods To Connect Roku to Wi-Fi
As we can connect the Roku device to stable WiFi, make sure to have a router that has the WiFi option. If it’s the first time you use the Roku device, you can follow the steps below to connect it to stable WiFi.
How to Connect Roku to WiFi for the First Time
Connect the Roku device to an HDMI port on your Smart TV to initiate the Setup process.
Follow the on-screen prompts, and reach the Network screen.
Select Set up connection from there and select the Wireless option.
Now, the available WiFi networks will be displayed on the screen. Select your WiFi network from the list.
Next, you must enter your WiFi network’s name and password.
After entering, select the Connect button, and your Roku will be connected to a Wi-Fi network.
How to Reconnect Roku to Wi-Fi
After connecting your Roku to Wi-Fi for the first time, the successive connection process is much simpler.
Hit the Home button on your Roku remote.
Then select Settings > Network options.
Choose the Setup connection option from the Network screen.
 Then select the Wireless option.
Finally, select your WiFi network from the list of available networks.
Now, your Roku device will connect to your selected WiFi network.
Alternate Method to Connect Roku to the Internet
You can also provide an internet connection to your Roku device without connecting a WiFi. That can be done using an ethernet cable.
To set up internet on Roku using an ethernet cable,
Connect one end of the cable to your Roku device’s Ethernet port and the other to your router.
Then, go to the Network option from Settings and choose Set up connection > Wired options.
After doing so, your Roku device will automatically connect to the internet. However, this method would also be helpful when the WiFi speed is inadequate.
If you cannot connect to the internet, try restarting your router. If resetting your router does not improve your connection, the issue may be the strength of the wireless signal. So try placing the router closer to your Roku device.
